Welcome to IFM Biology

Biology is the science of life, spanning from the molecular mechanisms within a single cell, via the function of multicellular organisms, to the structure of whole eco systems.
The scientific branch Biology has about 50 persons employed in total and is involved both in education (with over 250 students), and in research. The number of applications to our different programmes has increased over the last years and the department has successively increased the amount of students admitted each year.
The research at the department is conducted within ecology, molecular genetics, and zoology. Examples of the interests of specific research groups are: plant ecology and behaviour of domestic animals
